Filimo School is the newest product of Sabaidea Holding; a platform of instructional supplementary videos that cover all courses of first to ninth grades. The school will train the first to ninth grades using the approach of "transforming and qualifying of education" and according to the titles of textbooks. On the other hand, Filimo School has principles including the "pleasure of learning" and "educational justice" at its motto to stick it. "Mohammad Javad Shakouri Moghaddam", CEO of Sabaidea Holding (Aparat and Filimo) in an interview with Digiato, explains the reasons to establish this new product. He was asked where are the source of idea for the Filimo School and he responded to Digiato: "In fact, the idea for the Filimo School came from the events about the Corona Pandemic; issues of online education and the incompetence of the traditional method of teaching aid products such as teaching courses through conference calls, or the inadequate quality of content created in online education systems enabled us to realize that classical education is not beneficial and effective in this way and we considered the lack of proper content in the structure of the country's educational aid as the biggest gap. "Accordingly, we started producing and providing the content." Shakouri Moghaddam states that currently, the idea has been started to operate under a VOD educational aid platform named Filimo School, and first to ninth-grade students include its target population. The CEO of Sabaidea Holding was asked what distinguishes this teaching aid process from other current products and he responded: "edutainment is our main differentiation and strategy at Filimo School'', and we believe that educational materials are required to be in the form of games and entertainment; so that students can experience pleasure and learning simultaneously so that the training to be not boring and tedious. Our educational department directed by Dr. Ali Abdolali, who is well-experienced in the field of edutainment that is supported and assisted by the production and art departments of Filimo School'', tries to produce and represent educational concepts according to the titles of textbooks in the form of weekly supplementary educational videos. Shakouri Moghaddam also explained to Digiato about the educational content, and the way of operating in Filimo School, that the educational content will be produced as a "surjection" in all grades of education, which is in the form of educational and entertaining programming. He said, "this education method combines various forms and formats, including real, games, dolls, motion graphics, and science or science show programs,". Science shows in the world, or in other words, Science Shows show attractive phenomena and stimulate the audience's motivation to understand various phenomena, and then explain complex scientific concepts in simple language. Other users are required to pay a subscription to use Filimo School and receive the course content, but currently, the value of this product has not been announced for each academic year. Notwithstanding, what is clear on the Filimo School website is that currently, it presents this product free for all grades until December 6th.
Sabaidea talks about the unexpected events

The intersection of Modares Highway in Tehran and the famous Zafar Street is where vehicles usually stop in traffic and honk and drivers look furiously at the neighboring vehicles, but one of Iran's largest software holdings called "Saba Idealist Technicians", shortened as "Sabaidea" is located at this noisy intersection, which moves forward quietly and in News silence and provides its services to 37 million users.
When you enter it, you do not observe the anger outside the doors, nor the noise that stresses even the calmest people. The employees are happy and informal, they order at Sabaidea Cafe using a special application on their mobile phone, and gather together for different topics or perform and advance some of their mysterious projects behind closed doors of think tanks.
I tried for months and finally succeed in convincing "Mohammad Javad Shakouri Moghaddam", the CEO of Sabaidea allow Digiato and our camera to enter there; a holding company that, although it provides services to tens of millions of Iranians with Aparat, Filimo, Mihanblog, and Sabavision, is less inclined to talk with media; on the contrary, it wants to perform its business in the shadows and in silence and makes progress. A progress that is real, and Shakouri states for the first time in an interview with Digiato that he and his brother, Mohammad Mahdi, have listed this platform as a patent in The United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Thus, they have another reason for being far away from the media, including severe statements of the CEO; statements that occasionally make noise on Shakouri Moghaddam's personal blog or Twitter. There were these remarks even in the same conversation; notwithstanding, if I talk honestly, did not write it all; this is a better approach for both Sabaidea and Digiato.
Large holding on a pale blue dot

According to this distant dominant perspective, it is possible that the earth does not arouse any special interest. But it makes a difference for us. Look at that point again. That's the point. That point is home. That point shows us. That point shows whoever you love, whoever you know, whoever you have ever heard her/his name, every human who has ever been, have lived their lives.
Earth is a pretty small step in the immense field of the universe. Think of the blood rivers that drop by generals and emperors so that they can proudly and victoriously become part of the temporary masters of a point, think of the numberless crimes committed by the inhabitants of one corner against the inhabitants of other same corners, they repeat their misunderstandings, they are enthusiastic to kill each other, they hate seriously each other.
This pale dot has challenged our behaviors, imaginary self-vision, the illusion that we have a special position in the universe. Our planet is a single particle surrounded by extensive cosmic darkness. There is no sign of help originating from anywhere else to protect us in our anonymity, in all this hugeness.
It is possible that this distant image is the best proof of the stupidity of human pride in our small world. In my opinion, it is an emphasis on our responsibility to behave each other more compassionately and to protect the pale blue dot, the only home we have ever identified.
What Siegel has written about the pale blue dot has currently become the Sabaidea manifest; a manifest that Shakouri completely believes in and makes his decisions based on. Sabaidea is a software holding company that, its CEO states that it was established in 2004 with the capital achieved by selling a Pride, but as Siegel writes in his book, "astronomy is an experience that forms humility and personality"; The CEO of Sabaidea directs one of the largest software holdings in Iran, and it is possible to observe this humility, along with the seriousness of his behavior.
According to this manifest, Sabaidea has gradually grown over the past 15 years, earned revenue to pay for its new services through old products, and has never attracted capital from domestic or foreign investors. Currently, however, Shakouri states that the size of the company has grown to a point that they decided to negotiate to attract capital because they have bigger plans in their minds for the future years.
Notwithstanding, these same programs are not required him to accept any capital because the culture created in this holding is more significant to him and it is possible that an investor easily changes the cultural structure of a company. He believes that the blemish of organizational culture can be the most influential damage: "if this culture is not available, I have nothing and also have nothing to continue with"
As Shakouri writes in his blog, the day Sabaidea started its operation, internet activity and creating social networks were almost equal to sell drugs in the country, and he heard that if he is not arrested, it is due to grace. Currently, he believes that although the atmosphere has changed significantly, the current trend has also not been enough:
"I was arrested in front of my company and in front of my employees about seven years ago. They told me on the way that it would be better if you traded the crack. They only endured us in those days, but currently, the atmosphere has improved to some degree. I believe that the younger generation should take responsibility. The current Minister of Communications at least understands the people's opinions and applies the same instruments. Earn revenue from the Aparat
Earning revenue through Aparat has constantly been one of the most controversial issues in the last few years because YouTube users could participate in projects that make money of this platform for a long time and have a proper income; an income that, if more videos are observed, it can cause these people not to work as employees and video production, which many people are interested in it, to become their main profession.
This process has been continued in Aparat for approximately three years and special requirements have been determined for it. For example, if a video is to make revenue for its producer, its time should be higher than 2 minutes, and on the other hand, the viewer should watch at least 30% of the video to make revenue for the producer.
As Shakouri states, this is a pretty active process in Aparat that both news sites and adolescents across the country participate in it: "It is essential to state that pricing is set according to the quality of the produced content. "It is due to this fact that sometimes a team with ten members produces a long video, and on the other hand, a teenager explains a story on a football game, and we cannot pay the two groups equally."
Sabaidea's CEO informs that approximately 160 professional teams are currently producing high-quality content that Aparat provides sponsorship for them because the revenue earned by the advertisements at the beginning of the video does not satisfy the requirements of such teams. On the other hand, there are 900 other channels that make money at the lower layer; revenue that appears to be earned just by showing advertisements at the beginning of the video:
"Of course, we are updating this system due to its bugs and some of these channels have made unrealistic revenues for themselves. Each show allocated an amount of money to itself, but currently, we desire to change it to pay income per minute of content viewing. "Accordingly, when a user produces interesting and long-lasting content that is observed, it also makes more revenue."
Shakouri does not want to present a figure that is paid to content producers monthly or annually, but says that non-professional content producers receive a figure between 30 and 50 rials for each broadcast. It is possible to state easier that, a video producer will earn 5,000 tomans for every 1,000 views of his/her video. On the other hand, YouTube has a system called "CPM" that is different for each user. CPM or video production revenue has many variables per 1,000 views such as how many users have observed the advertisement at the start of the content, how many users have interacted with the advertisement, and so on. YouTube CPM is normally approximately $ 2 per 1,000 video views, which is much higher for more professional content producers.
Of course, there is a big difference between YouTube and Aparat. On YouTube, the advertisement will not be shown at the beginning of his/her video, if the user does not demand to make money, but on the other hand, Aparat usually will play an advertisement at the beginning of the video, whether pays the user or not. On the other hand, there are people who claim that it is not easy to enter the revenue-making plan from Aparat, particularly when we face such a phrase on the Aparat site: "This process will be started by announcing the application to participate in the program" Making Money from Aparat " "and Apart team will verify his/her qualification." Shakouri answers:
"Membership in this project is not difficult. The problem is that we have users who put other people's videos or movies and series on their own channels and anticipate being able to make money in this way. On YouTube, you are required to have a higher subscription and video viewing time so that to be able to make money. We decided to reduce these levels. We have a committee in terms of confirming the qualifications that determines whether a person is able to make money based on the content produced by the person who uploads the video. For example, a user adds some kind of music to a series or movie. There is a question in this field, what framework should we provide to the user and say that such cases are not acceptable? These cases are diagnostic and we cannot write them in law. I do not have any problem with this issue, but the filtering committee has ordered to remove thousands of clips in the same way. "We have to write 'qualification' and we are not able to mention all of these cases."
YouTube clearly does not experience such cases from the legislature, but on the other hand, the concept of "YouTuber" has been accepted as a business in recent years; YouTuber is a person who earns his/her income by producing and uploading video content on YouTube and has no requirement to have another business. But is it possible that the Iranian user, who cannot make money from YouTube because of sanctions and other issues, to be able to become an "Aparater" and to make money in this way? Shakouri respondents Yes and explains that there are currently such cases:
"A person who produces content and has the talent is also able to earn a very good income from the Aparat; income of 2 to 2.5 million tomans per month. Talent is significant here because it produces content that you want to follow the person and her/his next content. On the other hand, the culture of producing the content has improved on YouTube, while this case has not happened in Iran as it is required; professional teams that produce content on YouTube have been trained, and it is possible that they make more money due to the service works for billions of people, but here in Aparat works for tens of millions. The potential to visit is higher on YouTube because most of its content is produced in an international language. Aparat focuses on the Persian language, which is used in Iran and several neighboring countries. To this end, normally, we cannot compare the viewing of content in Persian on Aparat with content in English on YouTube and neglect their income difference. "If there is a YouTuber that earns $ 40,000 a month, his/her content is available to billions of people in the appropriate language, not 34 million people."
As Sabaidea CEO states, a system similar to YouTube Red does not work in Iran because the Iranian user will not spend money on this type of content. YouTube Red is a platform within YouTube that you are required to pay a monthly payment as a subscription to observe its exclusive content. Content producers on this platform that is displayed to the observer without advertisement, YouTube pays directly money directly for each view.
Shakouri has tested such a process in Aparat, which had not been successful, but he believes that he can do it again in Filimo: "Currently, the value of such services is left in the user's homes. Our programmers are also producing long content, and for example, I do not know anyone who has been operating in the field of bodybuilding and does not know the "Fit" program because no specialized content has been previously produced in this field. "We are able to submit some of this content on Filimo."
Definition of monopoly
Although it is currently reported that the government is attempting to eliminate the filter of Twitter and YouTube, social networks always explain that Aparat and its monopoly is one of the reasons for filtering YouTube in Iran that Shakouri Moghaddam takes advantage of it. Social media users accept more this idea when Shakouri decided to respond to one of the managers of internal media in a Twitter "air operation" in recent days, but he highly criticized because of YouTube filtering.
But how much are Aparat and Shakouri effective in filtering YouTube in Iran? Shakouri accepts that Iranians played a role in this field and foreigners could not play a role in this field, but believes that Sabaidea and Aparat are not exclusive because other Iranian actors can have a video sharing platform and there are currently several other services in this field. He believes that punctuality and making a competitor bigger than its other domestic competitors does not mean monopoly:
Although Iranians control the Iranian market, currently, there are several other video services in the country. It is not possible to state that if a competitor is bigger than others around the world, it should be defined as a monopoly. When YouTube was filtered, we recognized the space, and we could not believe it at all that people accept and use it in this level; I have said this many times without compliments. But this happened. I want to ask a question, do people who say such things identify the atmosphere of the country? How can I play a role in filtering or not filtering YouTube? "Even if they do not know the space and speak according to meanness nature, it is essential to ask that man or woman what you would have felt if you had established the Aparat and were experiencing these allegations."
Shakouri says that there is not only a relationship between YouTube and its filtering and Aparat but Aparat also experiences many content problems; problems that it fights to solve: "In a country where Telegram is being filtered and it is expected that Instagram also to be filtered, can YouTube content be published in this ideology and atmosphere?" When I started to operate as Aparat, I thought that our country would not accept YouTube content and that this business would be sustainable. They criticize that it is not possible that such and such content to be available on Aparat. In fact, we operate according to the laws of this country. When the judiciary of a country gives orders, you cannot continue to operate and violate these orders. We also operate within this framework and fight to publication some types of content. "But no one recognizes this dimension in this field."
He explains that Aparat paid attention to the "time" and it is one of the most significant factors for the success of Aparat and says that when we started to establish the club in Iran or we bought the first team of Mihanblog, this kind of business in Iran was funny: "I had no hope the night we launched Aparat. Because the user could watch content on YouTube that was not allowed on the site. But we started earlier than our domestic competitors and we had probably a little better condition in terms of technology. "I promise you, everyone else who started appropriately, now could be in the place of Aparat."
Cloud computing is not mayonnaise
Shakouri states that Aparat and Sabaidea Group have so far not supported internally- except for one project with the National Youth Organization - and tried for its progress, unlike newer businesses that tend to use government services as much as possible. Of course, it should be stated that lack of a foreign competitor in the Iranian market is not ineffective, but nevertheless, Shakouri says that not only is there no support, but he has been charged to the judiciary four times in the past week for various cases:
"No one has information about these cases. The radio and television (Broadcasting Organization) complain about us, they do not conclude contracts with us, we pay money, but they do not permit us to advertise on television. One person had requests from another to give us cloud computing. Cloud computing is not mayonnaise to buy from somewhere and give to someone. "The National Youth Organization had a project about 6 years ago, that was defined as supportive, and accordingly, they paid us 20 million tomans, and we always laughed it at that time and this time."
There is another fact that explains that the Iranian user is not interested in using the Iranian product and service due to various reasons; Shakouri says that this fact has roots in cultural issues: "We often talk about our rich culture, but we are not happy about the progress of others, even if we applaud them. Although, it is fact that criticism should be available, currently, when we look at society, we observe that many people use the same services. About 160 professional teams and two foreign teams - English and Canadian - are producing content for us. It is not possible to compare our service with YouTube; "neither technology nor capital that moves it forward."
Being Unicorn is not the objective
Shakouri states about Aparat's statistics that currently, this service shows 15 million stable video streams daily, but is not interested in expressing Aparat's share against other video providers. He simply mentions that the service provider that follows Aparat in the second rate has a steady 2.5 million daily streams, according to statistics that have published in the newspapers.
Currently, Aparat hosts 11 million videos in addition to 15 million daily video streams, and as its CEO states, it is arranged to become smarter in the near future using machine learning. Aparat can know its users better in the future and offer them customized content and more attractive presentations to watch; a feature that YouTube has been shown for years: "We've been developing a team to analyze data for a long time, and we've performed proper tasks that its outcome will be visible to users within the next two months."
Sabaidea employed directly about 160 people, and it is not possible to say how many employees are operating in Mihanblog or how many employees are there because Sabaidea has different teams that serve all the products of this holding. For example, there are about 80 persons in the technical team of Sabaidea, which provide services for all parts. But a service like Aparat has also created indirect employment, and as the service's CEO says, about 1,300 developers across the country are producing their own content and making money from Aparat.
Currently, Aparat 34 and Sabaidea have 37 million unique users, about 15% are outside Iran. Aparat with this number of users, is the most visited site in Iran after Google, but there is a question here that how much does the most visited site in Iran and the collection that supports it cost? Shakouri states that this valuation has been made and Sabaidea is negotiating to attract capital, but he is not currently willing to provide statistics and value of Sabaidea due to the continuous negotiations.
On the other hand, the problem of being a "unicorn" has been expanded in Iran these days, and Snap announced that its value has exceeded one billion dollars; a value that is estimated to be between $ 1.3 to $ 1.7 billion. Sabaidea is also one of the biggest software companies in Iran, which it is possible to achieve a value of billions of dollars in the future, although the Minister of Communications in an interview with "payvast journal " said that startups and companies that only operate based on the video, may not have the potential to become unicorns. However, Sabaidea believes that it can be among the first unicorns in Iran with a set of planned services in the next few years:
"Sabaidea has required potential and we have plans, but every company has purposes and decides based on these objectives for its future. I think it is wrong that a company aims to become a unicorn because if the same objective to be only considered, it will be possible to justify many other actions and behaviors along with it. We have decided to be a good team and serve the people from the first day until now.
We have made money and have been profitable for a long time and constantly spent the money we have earned to develop new services. Currently, for example, Filimo is a project that the entire company steadily spends investment on it and has a brilliant future. I think that we can be a unicorn in the not-too-distant future, but in fact, it is not the objective. On the other hand, the fact explains that the value of .com companies has decreased by one-third due to the current currency conditions. Mr. Jahromi's opinion is true in this field because video-sharing services attract many funds, but when you have a media with tens of millions of users, accordingly, it is possible to provide many by-products. Aparat may not be able to become a unicorn because of the high cost of maintenance and development, but we introduced Filimo and other services that we are currently developing and planning and they have the potential to become a unicorn that is never the main priority and objective, but it can be an outcome beside the other fruits of a business farm in the path to progress. Beyond the Iranian border
Iran with its 57 million users allocates the highest number of Internet users in the Middle East to itself, but it not easy to become a unicorn simply by operating in a country like Iran. Shakouri also states that Sabaidea has had trials and errors previously for activities outside of Iran, but can Aparat, as the most utilized service of Sabaidea, become a regional video platform?
Shakouri states that capital is the biggest obstacle in this trend and estimates that it is required to perform a $ 500 million investment to satisfy such an objective:
According to a service like YouTube outside of Iran, this field would require an investment of $ 400- $ 500 million. Technically, we may not have a good position at the start, but currently, we use completely up-to-date display technology and codecs. It is required to have a strong marketing arm to operate next to another global brand in the region. On the other hand, it is not always right to assume that a global brand dominates on a subject in the world of technology forever.
When MySpace was recognized around the world, no one assumed that another brand like Facebook could change the situation. Or I questioned myself why a company like Samsung had entered the game a decade ago when Nokia phones dominated the market. Currently, the whole world thinks that YouTube dominates the world in this field, but we have more than one billion Muslims in the world, and it is possible to change the game through the right investment and the right content flow. Many people cannot imagine such a change, but we have observed many such things that have occurred in the world. We have plans to enter this field, but we require to attract serious foreign capital. There are people who say there is not this opportunity, but they are wrong; "This atmosphere is available, and when that happens, they sit down together and say, 'Who would have believed that a service could find such a position due to the ideology of a group of the people?'
Although Shakouri refers to an opportunity, he does not mention the name of his services as a company that can use these opportunities. He says that Aparat currently does not seriously seek such a position and he states that a foreign investor is required to start its move to become a regional and global video hub: "We have made our plans, but we cannot perform this event by any investor or partner. We have traveled to Arab countries for negotiations; this issue was interesting for some of them and some of them could not believe it easily. "The risk is high and you have to think a little idealistic to achieve the objective."
Exclusive series in Filimo
It is possible to consider Filimo as Sabaidea's first attempt to attract direct revenue from users; Shakouri explains statistics that accordingly, this platform is the leader in the VOD market and has a share of more than 50% of the same market. Currently, Filimo has 400,000 subscribers who pay monthly for the service and has about 10,000 episodes of content on it. However, Filimo has a long way to pass to achieve the head-to-head point, and Shakouri predicts that this platform will reach that point in about a year and a half.
Filimo tries to make a dedicated series through an investment in the next stage of its development; the project that Shakouri says that initial actions have been started at the beginning of this year and have been entered into the pre-production stage and will be produced and distributed in the next five months.
Exclusive content makes a big difference in services and consequently, Shakouri says Sabaide has conducted much research on global services such as Netflix and their growth. He knows the production of a dedicated and exclusive series as one of the tools that can become a driving force for Filimo. Although, Shakouri describes that Filimo's competitors are respectable, but he says that accordingly, he can increase the distance with them.
The series that their names are still unknown, has an "audience-friendly style with themes of humor" and will be presented for the first season in 28 episodes. The CEO of Sabaidea predicts that between 10 and 14 billion tomans are required to produce a season of a series with the wanted quality: "Producing a series has its own time. We should have been able to gather enough users first and then try to produce such products so that it could at least cover its spent costs. "This series has an audience-friendly style and has components of humor."
He predicts that this year will be a golden age for VODs according to the behavior and growth of VOD service users in the last two years; a period of time when these services could achieve a large share of the offline market: "Filimo significantly grown last year. This growth has had an increasing trend for the past five months, and we assume that the home cinema market will be very successful by the end of this year according to the developing state of content such as the movies and series. All of these cases, along with the growing trend of users enable us to recognize this golden time for video broadcasting services. "Our previous predictions about growth not only are realized, but also achieved more levels that what we wanted."
Shakouri also talks on the popular "TinyMovies" movie download site, states that after arresting the members of the site, some VODs, including Filimo accused of being involved in the event: "We bought content for Filimo from TinyMovies because they were performing in the field of dubbing and we were not required to do it again. We concluded a contract with TinyMovies and sometimes they used our dubbed content. However, Filimo and several other service providers were accused of being involved in closing the site. We were extraordinarily sad about these accusations at that time because there were wrong and it was only the shot in the dark to destroy us. Currently, Tiny Moyes started to operate again and there are many movies download sites, in fact, the VOD service does not compete directly with the movie download site and of course, they have minimal commonalities, but what are the reasons for accusing us and some active services of cowardly behavior without any knowledge and information?"
"If they sell, we will buy"
Filimo publishes various media content, some of which clearly do not have copyright; of course, this trend can be seen on all VOD platforms. Currently, three types of content are published in VOD services: Iranian content, foreign content that can be purchased, and foreign content that cannot be purchased.
Iranian producers of serials or movies in Filimo have panels through which they can observe their daily and monthly income along with the length of time that the content is viewed. But foreign content is classified into two categories, purchasable and non-purchasable. Shakouri says about this:
"It is even possible to purchase some content produced by Netflix, such as House of Cards because it was developed in collaboration with Sony, and a home distribution company has bought it legally, and we concluded a contract with it. It is generally thought that a large portion of foreign content is distributed without copyright, but we have intermediaries to purchase this content. But the third type is related to companies that do not sell their content to Iran like Warner Company.
It is required to make a decision in this case because the same content can currently be downloaded without censorship. The decision of the Ministry of Guidance was to distribute the content only internally with specific censorship that was approved by them. "This decision has previously been made physically for the same field."
He says that if producers sell content to Iran, Filimo will purchase it because such contracts to distribute the content in the Middle East is not highly significant, contrary to popular belief: "Currently, we purchase domestic content that requires more money. "But when they do not sell, there is no other way, and I believe the guidance decision had been right."
The Spirit of Broadcasting Organization

"They gave us a completely one-sided contract in which, in their own words, the spirit of IRIB's contracts were imposed. 50% of brand, access to financial documents at any time or access to Big Data which is not clear why they require it. A company which has nothing and is beginning in this way may not have an issue with giving 50 percent of its share, but the company which has worked hard and has reached a point why should it give 50 percent of its shares to IRIB?"
With all these interpretations, Saba Idea is attempting to sign a novel contract with IRIB and return the live TV broadcast to Aparat, although Shakuri believes that live broadcasting of IRIB is not very important and some users are interested in applying it when broadcasting sporting events.
Thought room for unexpected cases
We observe a successful product called Aparat when we look at Saba Idea Holding from the outside which at its most superficial glance is a native instance of YouTube, but Saba Idea wants to be something beyond one of Google's subcategory. One can look at the holding that Saba has the idea of a localized version of Alphabet, of course, on a much smaller scale that also works on new technologies.
Forming this structure literally takes a long time, and Shakouri tells this software holding must be able to bring its other projects to the success that Aparat has achieved and then move on to the areas of "non-dot-com".
Regarding a decade and a half, Saba Idea has never stopped on a service and a project, and when you talk to its CEO, it is evident that such a process has gone so far because of his personal pragmatism: "The club, Mihanblog, Sabavision, Aparat, Filimo and other services have not been the end of line, and we have always moved to keep the complex dynamic and apply its capacity."
Although Saba's CEO is not interested in talking about it until he has performed anything, he finally tells that in the past, the holding has been looking for other technologies which Iranian technology companies do not commonly seek and even patents due to some products. "We have set up thought room inside the company which are pushing forward some projects that are not due to our current products. In these thought room, we require people with high intelligence, creativity and belief who can come up with ideas that may not have come to anyone's mind in the world before. "At the moment, we have some interesting opinions which are going via the process of taking time to get patented."
Currently, Shakouri brothers each own a patent in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and are attempting to register a few other opinions. Shakouri shares some of these opinions with Digiato, saying that one of them is an umbrella in which helium gas is applied to make it easier to carry: "By this opinion, you no longer have to carry a heavy umbrella but merely manage and monitor it, without disturbing its weight. These areas do not require to be built, but simply require to be designed, obtain citable documents which have a novel idea. Likewise, it becomes a patent and can be sold later, a least likely one."
Saba Idea really has an idea team inside the company which ponders about novel problems like it, a team which has two regular and scheduled meetings a week. Other idea that Saba Idea attempts to patent is "modular refrigerator". This product's property is also supposed to be energy management: "Today's refrigerators cool all their parts, but if they are modular, you instruct it to cool only the desired parts. That's how two sections of the fridge cool down and four parts you don't require stay silent."
Kitchen gas with checkered flames, drawer headers, salt socks machine, smart pot, helium umbrella and dozens of other ideas that each of them may be marketable to reputable companies and brands in their field after patent registration are also other projects that Saba Idea is developing.
The number of Saba staff has reached 160 today, and Shakouri himself, as the managing director of the holding, is observed in all job interviews as the last person to approve the person, but he does not do technical interviews with anyone, but assesses his personality. Saba Idea has concentrated on team building from the beginning and Shakouri believes that they have been so successful in this field:
"This team began its work with three people, namely me, my brother Mehdi and Mohammad Fazlollahi, and then developed it. At one point the team's size was so small which we drove north by one car. The company environment is important to me and I attempt to apply my 15 years of experience in interviewing people. I do not care how much knowledge the other person has, but it is significant how the person can adapt to the atmosphere of our company and whether he fits our team due to personality or not. We are informal and comfortable people; "That's why the ironed people here are not able to work on their own and make the atmosphere heavy for us."
Shakouri believes that entrepreneurs require to spend time and energy on bringing new people into their team to have a consistent team. One of the questions Shakouri asks in his interviews is when the person did last cry and is unwilling to describe to us what he or she receives from the reply. Saba is Shakouri's idea, people are interested in the food: "People who know how to enjoy a good meal or cook for themselves have special talents."
He tells that when the company had 20 employees, he pondered that it would be hard for him to interview everyone who enters the holding company in the future, but he still enjoys it because the team is slowly moving towards bigger to put his next ideas into practice.
